I have been searching and reading about a bunch of diff. 3" intake pipes.
And have a few questions i need answered so i can order one.
My car is completly stock except for a big 16g and atmo dump o2 housing.

1.While looking for an intake i have found that there a 3 diff spots an intake pipe will
sit.The stock location(short curved pipe),on the coolant over flow bottle(straight pipe),and almost against the fender(longer curved pipe).
My question is which location is best?

2.If i get an intake pipe that sits almost against the fender(if its best) will it clear my intercooler pipes(i have the stock side mount)

3.The first intake pipe slow boy racing has says the 2.75 pipe will barely clear the wastegate on a 16g so will the 3" even fit?

4.Turbo garage sells a dejon tool intake. In the options it ask if i need the valve cover hose tube or the charcoal canister hose tube or both.
I need both of these correct?
If any of this is confusing please let me know I need thes questions answered so i can order.
Thanks in advanced

I can help with the 3rd question, the others I don't know about because I have a 2g talon.

You'll need both hoses if you still have all your emissions and don't have an oil catch can attached to your valve cover breather hose.

1. Stock location is your best bet. You know where the filter will sit and there will be no suprises with installation.

2. If you get one that sits at the fender, there is a chance that it will intefere with your intercooler piping. Avoid the installation suprises and just stick with the stock replacement. If you're looking for cooler intake temperatures, grab some sheet metal, a dremel tool, and weatherstripping and fab up a cold air box to go around the filter element.

3. If you purchase the 3" pipe, go to the Home Depot and pick up a rubber 3" - 2" adapter from the plumbing department.

4. If you have not removed your charcoal canister, then yes, you need both.

I thought i would but wanted to make sure.
Thanks for your input.
He answered the 4th question not the 3rd i still need answers for 1 thru 3
Not trying to make you look bad i just wanted to make sure people know which questions still need answered

I have seen that alot of intake pipes dont have the tubes for the valve cover hose or the
charcoal canister.
I know i can buy a little filter on the valve cover where its hose went, but what do i do with the charcoal canister hose?Just let it hang?

If you get an intake from Dejon, you have the option of getting any of the hoses. And by the way, plumbing couplers are much different than other couplers. Make sure whatever type of coupler you get from Home Depot, PepBoys, etc. that it's 3" I.D. (inside diameter) and 2" I.D. as well. PVC piping is measured with O.D. (outter diameter).

If this is confusing to you, don't worry about it. Just take a tape measure, ruler, or something similar into the hardware store with you when you buy the coupler and measure the I.D.'s yourself.

Well i have decided on an intake
I am going with a full 3" Dejon power house intake pipe.(with only the b.o.v rec. pipe)
Then im going to get a 3" to 2.25" reducer from boostcontroller.com so it will fit my big 16g
Thanks for all the input it helped.
