im getting mine rebuilt very soon had a few questions about some of the options basically how would the help and what would be the pros and cons of a few of these options thanks..

HD Double synchro close ratio 3rd - 4th gearset, $300
HD standard ratio 3rd - 4th gearset, $100
CRYOGENIC TREATMENT, add an additional $200
HD TRE-spec intermediate shaft, add an additional $200.

The double synchros help if you do a lot of banging gears. If you use the clutch every shift, you shouldn't need these.

Pro: you'll basically never wear through the double synchro
Con: the extra couple hundred bucks

The cryogenic treatment is getting more and more popular. What they do is take a metal part (in this case, tranny parts), and get them super cold. Something like -330*. What this does is actually changes the crystal make-up of the compound. There are these microscopic crystal structures called martencite and austenite. They form when metals are cast.

Because austenite and martensite have different size crystal structures, there will be stresses built in to the crystal structure where the two co-exist. Cryogenic processing eliminates these stresses by converting the majority of the retained austenite to martensite.

Pros: supposedly strengthens the metal and makes it more durable
Cons: stories of cryo treating not helping, costs extra $$

Awesome info thank ya, so with the HD Double synchro close ratio 3rd - 4th gearset, $300
HD standard ratio 3rd - 4th gearset, $100, does that mean the 3rd and 4th gear have similar rations making the 4th pull like 3rd and would it make 4th shorter or what
