Montreal,
Hey,

I just bought Dsmlink and an Eeprom ecu from a member on this forum. He had the settings for his 950cc injectors burnt onto the Ecu. My injectors are 450cc, so I zeroed out the global settings and put dead time to 0.

My car doesnt start, and I dont have acess to the Dsmlink forums yet. Can anyone help me out? If theres anything I didnt write that may be helpful feel free to ask me.

Thanks

This is from the dsmlink forum:

For the 2G guys, the '95-'96 style Cam Angle Sensor (CAS) sends out a signal that's electrically "inverted" from other DSM cam sensors (1G or '97+ style). When you put a '95 ECU into a car with a non-95 CAS, the ECU ends up swapping the firing order of the injectors. In most cases, this produces very little noticeable difference in drive quality. But we offer the option to invert the CAS signal anyway just in case. You can selectively invert this signal with the DSMLink software as you wish. You will still need to swap your spark wires, though. We can't control spark firing order in the EPROM at crank time. So even with CAS inversion, you still have to swap plug wire 1 with 2 and 3 with 4.

That would apply if he had a 97+...

Hey,

Thanks guys for your help. If anyone has this problem its most likely that you have to swap the spark plug wires. Let the tuning begin :D

Are you saying that you DID swap the wires and now it's working? That sounds odd as CanadianTSi stated correctly "that it only applies to 97-99".

If it's not working I would check that your connectors are plugged in properly at the ECU.

And you are correct, for stock injectors (450s) the global and dead time should be zeroed out. Timing also.

Possible that the Eprom was programmed for the inverted CAS signal because the original owner had a 97+? That would explain a lot.

That's a great thought. And yes, it would explain a lot.

Where's that?

I can't remember if it's:
ECU....Dash or ECU....Micsilaneous (laptop's out in the garage...lazy). And then make sure Invert CAS is NOT checked. Then swap the plug wires back to their original position. That way at least if a mechanic was to look at it later he wouldn't say "Hey, that's your whole problem".

Of course it's your call. If you're happy, then leave it alone.
