I put the car in reverse and give it some gas, the car dies

When I put the car in reverse and give it some gas, the car dies. It drives perfectly though in drive. Does anyone know why it is doing this?

Ok first of all check the transmission fluid. Look at the color of it to see if its not old looking . To check the tranny fluid start the car let it get to full temp then put it in 1st then 2nd then 3rd, neutral then reverse, then park! This allows the fluid levels to lower to the actual level . Then check the fluid if its low add if it over fuel drain it some . But the best thing to do at this point is change the tranny filter and fluid . Check for any blockages in the tranny cooler this can cause this as well. Really the tranny cooler on these cars are worthless if you upgrade your car will shift much firmer . You can get the at autozone or advance cheap and they help alot. Keep us informed on this .

I just got it back the other day and I had a ton of mods done to it. One of em was an upgraded transmission cooler thats like 3 times the size of stock. I'll check the fluid though, maybe the guy forgot to add it. Thanks for the help.
