ok so i got my new True Greddy type S BOV, put it on my car and now i have a few questions. Firts off, my car now idles at about 1400 instead of the 800 it did, and second of all what does adjusting the BOV do, and how should it be adjusted, thanks for any help

To address the idle, start with a boost leak test, and check your vacuum lines.

The purpose for adjusting the BOV is to prevent "compressor surge" (the fluttering sound)
The screw on top should be backed out untill no fluttering is heard.

thanks i'll let you know what i find out, anyone else know anything else? or have this happen before? thanks

When you run your boost leak test, check in particular all connections at the BOV. Also, check the vacuum line which runs from the intake manifold to the top of the BOV. Since this connection is after the throttle plate, a leak here could easily cause a high idle.

thanks guys, it is at the line from the throttle body, the silicone hose is like 1 mm big and fits on, but sort of loose, so i'll jus pick up some new hosing tomorrow, thanks, now with adjusting the bov, just back the top screw out until; blow off is clean and no sputtering?

You will want to turn the adjustment screw counterclockwise until you no longer experience compressor surge. Compressor surge is detected by a fluttering sound, which is due to the BOV not opening to release the compressed air. Since the compressed air cannot escape through the BOV, it will travel back through the turbo. Over time, this will put undue stress on the turbo and shorten its life. Also, make sure you loosen the locknut before you attempt to turn the adjustment screw.

are you recirculating or venting? this could be your idle problem. or do you have a gm maf, (blow through)? with this your car will run fine b/c the air is read after the bov. venting can also cause your car to run rich. why am i saying this. all dsmers should know this by now. o well.
