I have a 1992 Talon TSI with an auto tranny. Ok so My mods are as follows: Hacked Mass, Manual boost controller, Cut air box with K&N, 3'' Downpipe Fabricated onto the stock catback eliminating the cat, The Evo 3 Gt 16g turbo, I mildly ported the O2 Housing and an aftermarket Boost Gauge. The car has 140k on it and the tranny is in great shape but I get blue smoke on startup from valve seals. I'm boosting at 10 with the 16g turbo and its much faster then it was with the stock 13g I blew up. My goal is high 13's with this engine but I want to know if you think its possible with so many miles on it? What I think will get me there (please tell me if this won't get me where I need to be) is to upgrade the 390 fuel injectors with 550's, get a 3'' catback exhaust, Safc2 like an Apexi unit, trans cooler, DBrode uic pipe with big tb elbo, and have a shop professionally tune my safc ona 4 wheel dyno and a Walbo 255 fuel pump without rewire.

I am on a tight budget so I thought that the above would be the best way to go to make the car a 13 second ride. Does anyone have any suggestions or better ideas on how to get the power I want for the car hopefully without blowing it up too quick. I'm a newbie with dsm's so I can use as much input as you guys can give me. On a side note when I went to the track at the beginning of the season with my 13g turbo, manual boost and just the free mods I ran a terrible 16.2 seconds 3 times. I'm going back next week to race my buddies 87' Monte Carlo and I think I might have him with the bigger turbo and dpipe. Can I make this car a 13 second budget racer?:talon: :D

first finish your exhaust, says you have 3in dp with stock cat back... Your not getting any real power gains there because whatever you gained from the dp got restricted again going back through the stock pipeing....

You need a ipt tuning shift kit and a good tranny cooler . Do you know how to brake torque your auto to build boost siting still? Or basically how to launch an auto . this can cut massive amounts of your time. But your tranny gets hot thats why you need a good cooler . Even if you had 450s you could get into the thirteens. I have a video of my auto launching at the local track!http://s41.photobucket.com/albums/e295/Jameschanley/?action=view&current=8-1.flv

In this pass my car was running 15 psi on a small 16g 2g mani ported ss auto o2 dump 450 injectors 1g maf hacked
2.5 inch down pipe . Its in the eight but i know what z28s run in the quarter and they dont pull this fast 8th mile!

I do know how to powerbrake for my launch. What is an ipt tuning shift kit and where can I get one? I also forgot to say in my mod list that I have a 2g ported exaust manifold on the car. And nightspeed there's no need to worry because I'm doing the exhaust first thing. I understand that before turning up boost and adding more fuel I need the supporting mods first. Thanks for your advice guys. Any other opinions?:talon:

I have no idea what I'm gonna run in the quarter. I just know that its going to be better then the 16.2 I ran with the stock turbo I'll post how I do in about a week:talon: . Thanks for the links man this site is great for auto trans stuff.

Hey your welcome if you have any auto questions Just ask . Also the dude that builds the torque converters and shift kits is a member here his name is transdude. If you look in the automatic sub forms youll see alot about this kit and many other cool parts for our autos.
Man i love n-l-t-s . You do need a aftermarket tranny cooler . I bought the biggest one advance sells and cramed it behind my intercooler Fmic .:thumb: ps also you should update your mods list!
