About a week ago I was driving to school and I shifted into 2nd and when I tried to accelerate the car surged for about six sec. and then went back to being normal. It did it again in 3rd on the way back home and one other time later that night. That is the only time it has done it, but I am still a little worried about it. When it surged the rpms jumped from about 2500 to 3200 and back to 2500. The boost gauge was jumping in the same way. What could it be?
 
Well sence last posting on this problem, it has continued to happen a little more often. I also have a little more to tell you about the problem. First it is a manual trans, and the guy I bought the car from had work slips for a "suto" rebuilt trans and clutch which was 10,000 ago. The rebuilt trans was basicly them taking his internals and putting them into a different case. Ok now for the problem. When I start to move after coming to a complete stop the engine starts to build RMPs and the turbo starts to boost, but the car doesn't really accelerate. It creeps along for about 5 sec. and then everthing catches and accelerates normaly. The turbo if boosting in full so it isn't a boost leak. It doesn't seem to do it after the car warms up. So what the hell it wrong with my car? Please help.
 
clutch. It has to be the clutch slipping. What kind of clutch do you have in the car right now? If it is stock than there you go. Get a new clutch and call it a day. If it is a 2600 or something just get a new clutch disk.
 
Have you checked your tranny fluid? It sounds as if your clutch were slipping. If you floor it in 2nd does the RPM's just go up and the car not really move?
 
Sry for the wake up but my car has been doing this for a couple months and i'm abpout ready to sell it because of it. ANY help would be great! I drive an auto so its not the clutch.

EGR, boost leak. Two main causes. Are you throwing any codes at all?
