Is it making like metal on metal noises? could be shaft play. Try taking your intake off the turbo and stick your fingers in the turbo and try to wigle the shaft. If it moves a lot then that could be your problem. Im pretty new to this so if that is the problme i dunno what to do from there.

It rattles, when you turn it off? could you be a little more specific..
Take of your intake pipe to your tubo, and feel the wheel for any play, up and down or in and out. It may be scratching up against the side of the housing if its far out of wack. Take a look in there if you can.
It could be something other then your turbo though..
What makes you think it is?
Whats it boost and hold at?

EDIT: Nice, one minute away!

it rattles like its grinding, i havent taken the intake pipe yet, i just got it runing again i bought it used for 500 with bent valves, but everytime i turn off it does this noise is their something i can tighten up or something.

it has a boost control but it doent have the little nob that lowers boost or raises does this mean anything??? thanks for your help

Please be a little bit more specific in your descriptions. Does the sound slow down gradually, as in a wheel slowing down? If so, blackbyrd and eclipse97024 are probably correct in the shaft-play diagnosis. The only way to test is to take off the intake pipe and try to wiggle the compressor wheel, like they described. Any in and out play means that the turbo's bearings have failed and need to be replaced/rebuilt or the turbo itself needs to be replaced. Since you're hearing a "rattling", it's possible that the compressor wheel is hitting the inside of the compressor housing inlet, in which case, you'll also most likely have side-side shaft play.

While the intake is off, look inside the compressor inlet to see if the compressor fins have been damaged or if the inlet walls have signs of scraping on them. As a last resort, take off the lower intercooler pipe and check for oil in the LICP and the SMIC. This is a sure sign of a failed turbo seal and requires immediate replacement or rebuild. If you're to this point, the car will most likely also be smoking from the tailpipe.

Also, check to make sure that the turbo is bolted securely to the manifold, the O2 sensor housing is secured on the turbo, the DP is secure on the O2 housing, etc. Loose bolts or heat shields can also cause rattling.

Let us know what you find.
