Basically long story short...

my 96 GST has sat for a little over 1.5years without running.. or even turning over..

the car will soon be back on the road.. and I was wondering if there's anything special required for me to do..

is there a chance the engine seized? would piston rings rust in to the cyl walls?

obviously it needs new gas and new battery

do i need to ad a Teaspoon of oil into the combustion chambers to lube the rings?

i was thinking.. just disconnect the injectors, remove the spark plugs and crank it over for 20-30 secs let it circulate the oil and blow out any foreign depree that maybe in in the combustion chamber...

what do u guys think?

You could turn the crank by hand some, see if it didnt seize. Thats a long time time though. You might want to drop the fuel tank and clean that gunk out, I have heard it gets bad and putting in new gas doesnt cut it. I know others will chime in.

thanks bud,

Fuel tank is already off... Going back on soon..

i really hope nothings wrong with the engine... i used to get 200 psi in every cyl before she went down

Personally I'd remove the spark plugs and put some oil on the top of the pistons. Let it set for a few hours and then try and turn it over by hand. If it turns over ok, leave the spark plugs out and pull the mpi fuse. Crank the engine over until you see oil pressure. Let the starter cool for 3-5 min and repeat this 2-3 more times. The last thing you want to do is rush this and spin a bearing!! Oh, I'd definately get new gas, but it looks like you've already done that. Don't forget to replace your fuel filter. The filter will probably be plugged with varnish. Good luck!!
