That double nut idea on the stub is a good one.

I broke a stud off in my turbo and had to drill it out. I tapped and hella coiled it so I could still use the stock bolts. I wish I would have tride your way before I went through all the trouble. I'm still having problems with the coil trying to come out the under side of the turbo because the bolts go in so far; the bolt wants to take the coil right out the other end. I'm thinking next time I have the turbo off, I'll try and glue the coil in the turbo with some sleeve retainer.

These are all good reasons why you NEED TO REPLACE YOUR TURBO BOLTS with new ones every 100K or at least once, when you do a turbo upgrade or engine work requiring the turbo to be removed.

Great pic's!!

Nice writeup.

It's a good idea to just leave that stud out and replace it with a bolt just like the other 3...atleast that's what us 2g folks do.

And while you have it off, why not replace it with a 2g mani? ;).

You should copy and paste this over to the tech forum. Nice writeup :thumb:

thanks guys, ill probably do that, so maybe it can be stickied in the tech forum.
