I just bought a 1995 talon tsi fwd with the following mods... small 16G turbo, 3" turboback exhaust, greddy frontmount, injen intake, dump pipe, HKS BOV, Greddy boost controller and turbo timer, the previous owner blew the motor and had a new one put in with 40K miles on it. He told me i need a fuel system... so what all do i need? I've got about $1750 to spend.

Well Andy, I guess I would like to achieve 350 whp, I will eventually upgrade to a big 16g turbo and use DSM link. The DSM link and big 16g turbo will be on before the end of this year.

What are your goals for the car and what do you plan on tuning your larger injectors with? Will you be installing a larger turbo in the future? Once you know that, we can make recommendations but it's tough to do so without more information.

Let us know,

Andy

If you are going to go with DSMLink, then there is no reason not to get the biggest injectors that you can afford. Most people will recommend something in the 900 - 1000cc range. I would also invest in a 255lph HP pump and an AFPR. That will be plenty of fuel for future upgrades.

Did you buy this from a guy named steven or is it a greyish color talon with crager wheels

edit: and who are you?

I would get a 255lph, afpr, and if you are not going to have DSM link for awhile then I would get some 660's and a SAFC but if you are going to do that I would just go ahead and get the DSM link and some 1000cc injectors. Hope this helps!

Since you said DSMlink, definitely get something in the 800cc+ range. You can extract a lot of performance out of a big 16G on 660cc injectors, but if there's even a 1% chance that you'll ever want a bigger turbo, get larger injectors.

Why buy small injectors now, only to have to sell them to get larger ones if you decide you want to run a big turbo. Do it right, do it once.

i don't think its a good idea to upgrade from a s16g to a b16g. if anything go with an evo3 16g or something even bigger (depends on what your goals are with the car).
and i hope that hks bov is not vented into the atmosphere.

here's what i would get with that $1800

dsmlink $600
afpr $150
720+cc injectors $300
walbro 190/255 $100
fittings/braided hose from the rail to the regulator $100

the rest of the money could be used for labor or something else if you decide to install everything yourself.

He beat me to it. Basically everything he said. Id also go a lot bigger than a E316g if i had all the supporting mods you have, not to mention awd. Id go at least to a 50 trim minimum from a 16g.

If you bought this car from Steven, you have a lot of work to do before you can start to upgrade. Some things need to be fixed, I have worked on this car.
