Question on Throttle cable for 2g, with 90 engine...

I recently went to a mitsu. dealer to get a throttle cable for my 95GSX...they took my vin and ordered it...well when I picked it up it was really SHORT..im not really sure how long the cable is on the 2gs...but I know the one that was in the car was nice and long...
My question is will a 2gs stock throttle cable reach for a 90 engine, since the previous owner installed it...Im really kinda clueless with DSMs as ive mostly owned GMs...Should i have them re-order it..or do I possibly need the cable from a 90??

Do you have cruise control? If so, it should be longer. Without cruise control, it's shorter. The non-cruise cable number is MB539465.

I saw no cruise setup...was just hooked straight to the TB...
They gave me a Part # - MB904109
Ill go back and give them that # see if theyll change it for me..
The one i have is like maybe a foot and a half long...and one i took out..well a LOT longer 3+ feet at least

I recently changed from a cruise to a non-cruise cable and I have the same engine/car as you. I used a 2G cable its very short, but fits and works just fine for me.

Hard to see all of it, its doesn't wrap way around the mani like the other one did. Just straight over and to the throttle.

Another concern I have is that the throttle body has a spacer on it, so if the 2g cable is JUST long enough it wont work..i need at least another inch if it just reaches...
Thanks for the pic, that cable looks the same as one that was in there before...Ok ill go with that and make it work..

Another thing the cable i got has a completly different mounting to the TB..ugh im so clueless about dsms...wish I knew some DSMers in my area

Also, that cable has more than enough slack to allow for that spacer crap.

I just took out my cruise recently and put in a non cruise 2g cable and it wraps around the the intake manifold just like the one for cruise control and fits into the 2 clips at the fuel rail mounting points. MyBeatGSX, your's doesn't look correct either, but as long as it works who cares.

Mine is correct, I got it in a Mitsu labeled bag from a DSM shop, they don't deal with or stock 420a parts.

That actually looks like the cable that goes from the pedal to the cc box. Has the cc been removed from your car?

Yeah, that appears to be the one that goes to the CC box. It can be used, but will need to be changed. Don't ask me how, but here's the thread:

Appearently the fitting on that cable is too small for the TB, so you've gotta put something on it to make it bigger. Copper or brass tube or something. PM Mobythevan to find out. I wish I had known/tried this. I think that would be the best look. No excess lines.
