stock downpipe with b16g

Sure you can. You can use your stock downpipe with any turbo that runs a Mitsu type turbine housing and O2 housing. It'll be restrictive, but it'll work.
 
My only question is why? If you are getting a bigger turbo, you will want a biger exhaust, less restriction on all the extra air that is runnign through your engine, it would be smart to look into an exhaust system while you have everything apart already...

True, a bigger exhaust will flow a lot better, but I wouldn't go any bigger than 2.5" with that 16g or you'll have to deal with the infamous boost creeping issues associated with them(assuming it's unported and you're using the internal wastegate). I have a full 3" all the way back, and at anything below 18psi it creeps all over the place.

Boost creep shouldn't stop you from going 3". Boost creep is a good thing, a sign of achieving higher level of performance, the key is learning how to control it without compromising performance.

Hmm I never thought of it that way LOL. Are there any other feasible ways of controlling it besides porting or going external?
 
i have an apexi n1 cat back 3inch exhaust but my stock turbo is blown and cant drive the car. it is my daily driver so i just got the new turbo and im still tryin to find a new dp. so thats is why im using the stock one for now.

There has been talks about manipulating the length of the flapper pivot arm to allow the flapper to open wider that has worked for some, however this will also decrease the actuator/flapper's ability to hold higher boost to redline (flapper blown open by exhaust gas), same issue as increasing the flapper size. IMO proper/precise porting and external wastegate remains the most effective ways of controlling boost creep.
