I'm having trouble getting my axels back in after the motor swap... I can either put it in the tranny then i cant get it in the hub or vise versa. Right now im working on the driverside one and I have looked it up the the Chilton and on here and I can't get anything to work. The Chilton wanted me to disconnect some parts that I can unbolt but cant get out. I dont know what to do to get them back in... Any suggestions?

I assume we're talking about putting the axles back in....unbolt the lower control arm (curved) and the lateral arm (straight) from the under-body attachment points, it also helps to remove the shock fork from the lateral arm, and let them hang free. Pull the the suspension assembly out from the bottom, then stab the axles back in.

Of course it's a lot easier with a buddy to do one or the other. However, I've managed to do it by myself a couple of times, it's just a PITA to do.

If it's the actual wheel bearing hub....then you will have to remove the caliper/rotor assembly. Behind the rotor you will see 4 bolts. Undo the 4 bolts and the castle nut then the hub assembly will fall out (yea right).

All the while with either job....be careful not to tear the ball joint boots.

I always put it in the tranny first and just pull down on the knuckle assembly and get it in that way. Usually the spindle ends up being at like a 45 degree angle and I use a pry bar to pull back the knuckle assembly and then just align the spindle it's not the easiest thing but just be patient.

FORMONTOYA: Thanks a lot, i was trying to take it off wrong. My brother and his friend took them out and he just came up and told me exactly what you said so thats what ill try when i get back at it. fulanititoo8198: your way was making me mad LOL so i'll try the other really quick LOL

Yea, it's a little more work taking the suspension components loose as mentioned, but I find that I cuss a whole lot less.

Also, watch out for the axle seals when re-installing them. Also, now is the best time to put fresh seals in too...they're really cheap.

And it's only a handful of bolts anyway. Real easy with air tools, but not too bad without.
