I've been having this problem for about a month or so right after i got done installing my timing belt. my car idles really funny it drops down to 750 when at idle and sometimes it will drop to 740, when i'm driving it will die out if i let the cluth out and give it no gas. I figured it was a vacuum leak. i fixed all the leaks i had and it still did the same thing. then i went to vfaq and checked out everything that they have on the idle surge page. when at idle my vacuum reads 15, 16 and it stays there but it still idles really funny. could it be my timing belt not set properly? I can't make my car to redline either. when in 1st gear i step on it and it seems like i have to shift right after reaching 6000 rpms, and the same happens with all the other gears..where should my crank pulley timing mark be? (0 1 etc) thanks for the help guys:thumb:

A 10 RPM change (750 down to 740) is nothing to worry about. It should normally vary 10-20 RPM at least if you are reading RPM off the ECU with dsmlink, MMCD etc.

Really, you need to provide more info on what your motor is doing wrong here. Obviously it shouldnt be cutting out when you get off the clutch.

What does it do at idle when you put the AC on?
