ok i'm not sure what's wrong but i just got done with my 16g install and sbr fmic. after that i turn the car on and about 4 or 5 minutes later it started to smoke around the housing. it wans't a lot of smoke but it's enough to wher eyou can see it. is there a problem to this or anything. help.

Did you get any oil or something on the exhaust manifold when you were fiddling with it? It could just be burning off. Or, you can check your oil lines and banjo bolts. Make sure they're tight. But not too tight! Did you use new crush washers? If not, that's most likely your problem.

Sometimes antisieze will cause smoke as well. Check to see if your water lines and oil lines are leaking.

Did your old turbo die on you, if it did and thats the reason you replaced it with a 16g. The reason for the smoke can be that the old turbo blew a bunch of oil into the exhaust and it will take a while to burn it all out. I had the same problem, and i had to drive my car for a day or 2 before it stoped smoking.
