I've read the discussions on the sportlines a few times, but my main question is my friend will sell me a set of used sportlines for 80$ is it worth it. I plan on running them with Tokico Iluminas.

id say go for it too...your a n/t so you dont have to worry about huge awd exhaust clearance problems and such...i see you have 17'' also so you should be looking nice...good luck :thumb:

the car I bought has sportlines on it, I really wish it had prokit instead, the front bumper needs paint, it's no mystery why.. unless you're ok with waiting for 30 second gaps in traffic to go over a sidewalk to road transition diagonoly and ridiculously slow I suggest not getting them.. my exhaust is stock right now, and it scrapes over larger speed bumps, I'm DEFINITLY changing to the prokit.. then I'll probably try to pawn my sportlines off on some sucker who wants to look cool too...

edit: also I think, but am not sure.. that the Talon bumper is a little lower and more aggressive than the eclipse, so you might not have as much trouble with an eclipse.

Typically Springs Don't go bad. They will slam your car to the ground...you might even be hired to pick up additional roadkill while you drive as you will naturally scoop it into your bumper.

In all honesty You'll run a stiff ride and handling won't be great.

UP TO YOU! I have a buddy who ran them and tore off his bumper in OHio cause alot of homes have those stupid cement gutter thingy's at the bottom of the driveway.

Sportline's are 1.7 inch drop
Pro kit is 1.3 inch drop

depends oh how low you wanna go holmes...

Actually after sag, the prokit will drop you 1.5" and you will get a 2" drop with the sportlines.

I, personally wouldn't go with it, but if you really like the look of really low drop, then go for it. Unfortunately, I bought my car with the sportlines and I have awd. The awds came stock higher than the fwds for a reason. Hopefully I can get the pros or coilovers.

I ride sportlines...

If you're prepared to take it easy with bumps/dips then go for it. My car rides pretty nice with em. They're not as performance-oriented as sportlines. As far as ride height...Every once and awhile I think about gettin Pros or another kit that gives more clearance...but then I walk into the garage and see that sexy stance and all those thoughts goes away. :p

My buddy had that exact setup and absolutely loved it. I had the pro kits for a while on my old car and they were nice but i wanted something a little more aggressive so switched to the sportlines... either way you cant go wrong though, great stuff.

Any shock but koni yellow's, pretty much, will ride like crap with sportlines.
Why do you think you friend is selling them for 80 bucks? ;)

I hear nothing but good things from koni yellows.

If they weren't so damn expensive I'd buy em. Buying all 4 struts with a set of prokit/sportlines is just as expensive as buying Tein Basics or if you shop smart like me I can get Tein SS coilovers for $900 Shipped. :p
