Currently, my 99 GSX has ported and clipped 14b turbo + fuel system. I was going to make it very fast, but now i am thinking of leaving it as a quick daily driver, because of my Yamaha R6 that i have for the summer time.

Could you guys tell me what the better idea would be, with the complete fuel system, adding a Evo III 16g, and fmic, or just adding a fmic to the 14b?

Well, adding the FMIC to either turbo will be good. You might as well keep the 14b, get a FMIC, do fuel, tune it, max the 14b out, then upgrade to the 16g. The FMIC will still work for the 16g, so get it now. That way, you don't have to worry about it later.

Yes. Always max out a turbo before you buy another one. This is something people usually have a hard time grasping. If you can squeeze more hp out of a turbo, why not? Once you can't do that anymore, then get a shiny, new, bigger turbo.

there's ton's of good deal's going on right now on part's.. why not add some cam's in there with your wishlist..just look around at some website's at part's.. you'll get the itch..as im buying new part's im thinking about what to order next week... its so bad but so fun..:D

Honestly, why spend all your money maxing out a specific turbo before you upgrade. Before you know it youve bought like 3 turbos. Why not save yourself ALOT of money and buy something that is a little above your goals. If your goal is say 400whp then dont buy a Evo3 is MIGHT get your around 400whp. Buy like a T3/T04E which is good for around 550whp and can get you 400whp without having to boost your motor all to hell. Im sure if you max out your 14b, then you buy a 16g and max it out, then you want more your gonna look back and wonder why you didnt just go with the last one to begin with. Just because your goal is set to a certain HP doesnt mean you have to get a turbo that is only good for that particular HP. Just something to consider

I say why bother spending any more money if your goal is a quick daily driver. Tune it for more efficient power, squeeze some more boost out of it and enjoy it for what it is. There's nothing wrong with your combination and even though the 14B makes heat at higher boost levels, the stock sidemount is more than enough to meet your goals.

When you really want a speed rush, toss on the helmet and leathers and go for a blast on the R6.

I think it's just our natural tendency to want know that we did the best we could before plunking down more money. I do agree that if you go reasonably large the first time and plan ahead of your goals it'll be much easier to meet them.

I am just debating wether or not to continue with the 14b or improve with the evo III 16g. i really just want to be in the 13's.... i think a tune with fmic on the 14b might set me to that stage.? or should the evo III 16g be added

You can hit that on the 14B with the parts you have now. I went 12.50's on a stock 2.0, sidemount and a Big 16G. Believe me, there's plenty left and if all you want is a 13 second slip, you already have the right parts.

Thank you 99gsx0221 for bringing up the subject, because I have a similar question.
My turbo just blew so right now, I'm trying to decide what to do. I have a fmic and a fpr on the car. Basically my question is should get a new 14b and spend money on injectors, or should I go bigger? Like possibly a 16g or a 20g. My goal is similar to 99gsx0221's, I want a fast street car. Any help is appreciated.
Sorry 99gsx0221 if you feel like I'm changing the subject on your thread. I just saw it and I thought it was a good opportunity to ask, since I'm currently trying to decided what to do.

pyschoslipknot i don't feel your changing the topic or hyjacking the thread! :)

I am going to keep my ported and clipped 14b and run in the 13's... that is my goal. I guess if i want a faster goal i will upgrade my turbo and hit in the 12's. Thank you all for the help
