What would i need? i mean i dont have the money to spend 150-250 on a 2g install kit i was thinking all i needed was a jpipe??? im installing this on my 2g eclipse, here some piks off the turbo, cracks in the housing but still usable a bit dirty but amazingly no shaft play what so ever in and out left and right none what so ever. what you guys think on the crack, and what stuff is a must when i install the 14b? on a budget here.

That's a hellofa crack going to the wastegate area in the bottom right picture. Anyways, you will need:

1xHead-manifold gasket (if you plan on dropping the manifold to get it out)
1xManifold-turbo gasket
4xTurbo bolts+lock washers
1xturbo-O2 gasket
1xO2-downpipe gasket (maybe if it hasn't been replaced yet)
4x14mm copper crush washers
2xWater lines, bent correctly
1xOil feed line, from the filter housing
1xOil return line (hack your own or get another one)
1xJ-pipe gasket
1xJ-pipe
1xLICP solution (flip yours around, or get another one)

Lots of PB blaster
RTV silicone gasket maker
RTV copper gasket maker as well preferably
High temp Antiseize on all your bolts
Replacement bolts for stuff you will break

Or go to the vfaq: http://www.vfaq.com/mods/2G-16G.html

My 14b turbo had the same crack when I took it off my car for gasket replacement. I would not call it hell of a crack, it's just a normal crack with our 14b turbos.

It would be nice if you can replace all the things stated in the above post but mostly you need the J-pipe, oil line, and some gaskets and/or gasket maker. It's an easy swap, just get all the stuff before you start doing it so you have everything prepared.

Yeah, that type of crack is normal. The only thing you really need is: Mani to turbo gasket, turbo to o2 housing gasket, oil drain gasket, J-pipe and a oil line.

Edit: If your really on a budget you can skip the Mani to turbo gasket and o2 gasket. But its always better to have...

My t25 spulls loud and im haveing smoke comeing out of my exhuast everytime i get to a stop, when my friend revs its there is a slight blueish color but its mostly white but it looks a little like blue, and i have alot of in and out shaft play. this 14b has no shaft play what so ever and was rebuilt less than 10k miles ago

Well you will like it much more then the t25! :thumb:

You need the following:

- J-pipe
- J-pipe elbow to connect to LICP
- oil supply line
- oil return line gaskets
- a small length of 3/8" fuel line

You can probably reuse the turbo-to-exhaust manifold gasket and the O2 sensor gasket-- just watch for leaks.

To reuse the water lines, put the front one on the back and the back one on the front, and cut off the mounting brackets. You'll have to bend them a little to get the correct angles. Use the 3/8" fuel line in place of the front (I believe) rubber hose, as the stock one is too short. You can reuse the copper crush washers on the water lines, but they're a dollar a piece, so it's not exactly breaking the bank to get new ones.

You'll need to file the holes in the oil return line to match the width of the MHI center section.

If you're looking for an "a la carte" type place, try RRE. I'm not sure if they have the J-pipe elbow, but places like Buschur do for sure.

EDIT: Geez, I'm getting slow anymore.

explain a little more in detail please

The T25 is a Garrett turbo; therefore, the mounting holes for the oil return line are spaced slightly differently than the MHI center housing.

The MHI holes are a little wider, so you can take a small round file and widen the holes from your stock line to make it fit. It takes a little time, though.

oIL LINE AND JPIPE IS all i need then? all i have is 80 bucks LOL ill see what i can do so i can get this installed

Uh, no, you'll need at least one oil return line gasket and the 3/8" fuel line to make the stock water lines work. And don't forget some type of elbow to connect the J-pipe to the LICP. You'll be hard pressed to get everything you need for $80, but good luck.

ok when i was on a budget, i used the following to install my s16g

you need:
4 1/2 quarts of oil w/ filter (auto-parts)
1 bottle of anti-freeze (auto-parts)
1g oil return line, (junk-yard)
braided steel oil line
1 ghetto rigged jpipe which i fabricated myself($15)
extra vacum line and water line.

Ok, i got my oil line(2 1/2 feet) made at the local harley-chopper shop, they had all the perfect metric fittings with washers for less than 30.
For the jpipe, i used a water temp housing of a 94 4cyl chevy s10 from autozone, it fits perfect just buy the bolts. I had radiator hose with a exhuast pipe reduce to fit my stock intercooler line. Looks like crap but it works. I think the install kit that i made cost me $60. I then linked my waste gate actuator to the BC and t'd it off the bov.
WORKS! amazingly. 0 leaks

where is the best place to buy the turbo install kits? ebay doesnt have many, i searched earlier, jegs a good place? im also on a budget too but this stuff is very important

Im confused here a little, excuse the newbieness, but the oil return line is that thing that goes to the turbo to the oil pan correct?

I'm also doing this install this week. My problem is with my licp. I have a 95 GSX with the "silencer" on the compressor outlet so my licp is shortened. It appears that my licp will not reach. I have a j-pipe from a 1g, wiil this be enough or do I need to buy something from RRE or slowboy? Thanks for comments:confused:
