Wastegate Controll Knob

I have an open wastegate controll knob that I can turn left or right, does anyone know what is happening to the wastegate when I turn the knob either way also is there a way to gain some horse power when twisting the knob?? If so what are the risks of doing that??

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by " wastegate control knob". Are you referring to a manual boost controller?
 
No, alright there is a line running up from the wastegate bolted onto my radiator then out of the black hosing from the line running up from the wastegate is a metal round knob that you can turn left or right... It controls the wastegate but I don't know what it is doing to the wastegate.
 
A boost Controller it adjusts how much boost it is running. You can turn it up or down you can only go down to about 10 and up to about 15 if you are on the stock turbo but dont go above 14 if you are on the stock fuel system. IF you dont have a boost guage get one ASAP so you know where you are at. Good luck
 
That is a manual boost controller. Like larsenracing said, make sure to not get "boost happy" and turn it up too high. Keep it relatively low, around 12-14psi. And make sure that before you start messin around with boost, you get an aftermarket boost gauge. The stock one is not accurate.
 
Yeah I have an after market boost gauge, is that really what that is a boost controller I've manual ones before but I never knew that had some like that. Sorry for sounded like a newb im just excited to know I have a part i didn't think I had. What will happen with my fuel system if I run to much boost. From what I can see the fuel system seems to be stock. Does anyone have any recomnedations for an after market fuel system.
 
have fun, and a good fuel system for that much power would be DSMLINK with 1000cc injectors or get the AEM stand alone and run some 1000cc injectors. Also, I would look into a stroker kit and then an awd conversion or at least a limited slip so you can get all the power to the ground with out ruining tires every 10 miles :) also, do not for get the walbaro 255 and a AFPR or some other high flow fuel pump. yea i have the wideband o2 sensor. I've been looking at 2.3L stroker kits I can't find a 2.4L is there that much of a difference between the two with power that you will acutally notice?? I was thinking about the DSM link because by the time I have the stroker kit in im going to be tapped out of money. My buddy has it on his GSX its really nice but we are still figuring out the tuning.
 
I would definatly go with the dsmlink over the aem expecially if you are having difficulties right now. It is a hell of a lot easier to tune and you should not be able to feel any noticable difference between the 2.3 and 2.4 stroker plus the 2.3 is more acessable. also, what are you going to be doing for traction issues
 
I'm trying to find an AWD Conversion Kit the actually kit so I don't have to buy separate parts but so far thats not going to well I can't find anything for kits. But I do plan on turning it into an AWD but before that I am going to install Front LSD and Center LSD before the AWD conversion. I also plan on having wide tires and lowering my front end a .5inch lower then my back.
 
just so you know, the center diff can not go in until the awd conversion and I would look at eibach pro line springs, yes they do not drop alot but they ride great or I have some springs that were on my AWD TSI and the front dropped 2.5 to 3 and the back around 1.5 to 2 i can send you a pic and it would be less on your fwd if you want the springs cheap. if you want a pic tell me and I can send it to your phone or you will have to wait until saturday
