Ignition problem

so I lost my key to my first gen laser today. and I dont know what to do.. I called Mitsubishi and they said it will be 80-100 bucks for them to make a new key. and I was just woundering if this has happend to you guys and if there is an easier less costing way for me to fix this problem. I have been starting the car for the past coupld day's with a screw driver. ha. what should I do?

Pay the money, theres nothing else you could really do. Maybe a lock smith could figure it out and make a key but I wouldnt think so. Or you could swap the whole tumbler and ignition for a new one but guessing that woud cost more.

if you've been using a screwdriver to start it, it already sounds like the tumblers are gone. I'd replace it with a new lock cylinder and key. Just my .02

Where is there a place I can buy the new part of the ignition that I need? I need a key and the thing it goes in. I dont know what thats called. but I need it. Sorry for bad grammer. But help me out please.

Try your local parts store. You might have to go to a mitsu dealer. Or even find someone that is parting out a car.
