swaping out the 420a, what should i swap to?
I got a 99 gs. ive already put all kinds of cosmetics on it, it looks sweet. only problem is its not fast at all! i researched the potential of the 420a and found a company called hahn racecraft, it looked promiceing. however i want to swap out the 420a and automatic transmition and put something else in. i know of the 4g63 and how much potential it has, but i wonder, is there something else besides the 4g63 that would completly destroy the compotition!!! ive got alightle over 10 grand waiting to go into this new motor. im going to turbo it ang biuld up the engine completly. any sugestions on what engine to swap to? keep in mind that money is no object.
thank you for any help,

Are you simply paying someone to do all of your work, or will you be attempting to do all of this yourself?
Use the search button and there is TONS of information on this out there...
You would most likely be looking into dropping a 6-bolt 4G63 or a 4G64 stroker type motor in if money is not object...Depends on your goals and what you want to accomplish..

Don't swap the engine. If you have that kind of money just build up the 420a because you arent going to be able to swap the 4G63 into a 2g n/t without MASSIVE modifications and then you would just have a stock 4G63. With 10 grand you can do ALOT to the 420a that will destroy even alot of GST and GSXs. www.2gnt.com that will provide you with better information on the turboing part of a nonturbo eclipse.

Your best bet would be to build the motor you've got, and turbo it.

if ## smart u can get a shop to stroke the 420A and make it a roller motor. With that you can simplely bolt up the turbo with out having to worry.

Another dreamer..
Sell your "GS Beast" and get something fast if that's what you're looking for.
If you want to rice it out and put it in shows.. It's getting the job done - keep it.

Unlike everyone else on here. I'v noticed that you put money into this gs and would like to keep it. Now i suggest forged internals or maybe even stroke the engine. If not, then there isnt many other engines that would fit such a small engine bay. 4g63t is probly the best engine choice if it wasent it wouldent be used in the evo's. Look under parts catalog and look at the engines. They will highly F k stuff up. Once you get more power you will need drivetrain and suspension. Qualife Limited slip diferential will take car of you tracktion issure you will have will have with more powerful engine. What are your goals anyways. Street, track, show and track. Mabybe a 350hp daily?hahah

going along with what zachakagoat said, it isn't a feasible swap to put a 4g63 where a 420A once resided. He also gave the best place for info on 2GNTs, 2gnt.com.
with 10k to invest, you can have a pretty decent 420A.
