whats up everyone?

so heres my problem...my stock tach and speedo say that I'm going about 60 mph and i'm revving to about 5000 RPM's. Now before, i took out my gauge cluster and shaved my needles, but thats all that i did and when i put the cluster back in, it said that i was moving at 60 mph and going 5000 RPM's. Now when i drive, my speedo never moves but my tach does...does anyone have any answers or could help me..? thanks :dsm:

How does the cluster read anything if you shaved the needles?WTF

With it reading that far off, evidently, you didnt orient the needles the same as what they were before you removed them. And since the odometer isnt working, you probably damaged it when removing the needle. Check to make sure the plugs engaged completely upon reinstalling the cluster. If so, I would just replace the cluster and dont mod it this time.

okay i typed that wrong. I meant it as in "I shaved the orange part of the needle off" LOL...
my odometer works...its just that my tach and speedo gauges are all jacked up

weight reduction?

LOL..i guess you could say that...! i was gonna mod my cluster with LED's till i got bored of it (read 'PITA because i hate things that have to do with electrical currents') so i put it back in and its all WTF now

well, heres the things that i know and that i think:

from what your saying 92, your saying that my needles arent aligned. I know they work because they move (besides the Speedo needle) so if i buy or go to a junkyard and pick up a needle, will it be plug and play or do i have to take my whole gauge cluster to a "gauge cluster specialist"..?

edit: but I'll try to adjust my needles when i get off work. I'll let you guys know if it worked or not...

Does it only affect you at a stop? Your Vechicle Speed Sensor(VSS) might've popped off a bit. Reach down on your tranny left of the starter and find a plug. Push down on it.

when the car is off, the tach says its at 200-300 RPMS when it should be resting on the needle by the zero. the Speedo is on the zero. when i turn the key (not to start it up but before that) the tach shoots up to 6000 rpms and the speedo goes to 60....very confused....

and i really dont know if this is connected to anything but anytime the tach hits the red (7500-8000 rpms) my car sorta bogs out and feels like i hit fuel cut and i think i have a air leak somewhere on the left side...O_O
