This may sound like a stupid question because everyone knows the difference between models and years but...I have a 91 talon tsi awd and I want to switch over to a 92 laser awd. I'm assuming all of the 92 awd lasers were 7 bolt/4 bolt. My talon is obviously a 6 bolt/3 bolt. I like the laser body style better but want the parts from my talon because I have put a lot of money into it. My question is...will I be able to convert all of my parts (engine, drivetrain, etc.) over to a 92 laser? Obviously the body won't convert but I want to swap just about every other part possible. Can this be done? and if not, what problems will I run into? Thanks a ton for anyone who can help!! And please don't answer unless you know for sure because I don't want to waste money on another car unless I know this is going to work.

Yes it can be done and pretty easily too since both cars are exactly the same, and yes you could also convery the body if you really wanted to. The 92 Lasers had 6 bolts up to around july, any production date after that had 7 bolts.

I have a 92 laser awd with a 6 bolt/4 bolt. The car is exactly the same as yours except for the 4 bolt rear, and the headlights, front/ rear bumpers, taillights and the spoiler. So you could swap over all of your parts with no problems.

Fenders and hood are also different.

It sounds like I should be fine, I just wanted to make sure I would be able to keep my 6 bolt even if I get a late 92 model with a 7 bolt in it. Thanks for the help. If anybody finds out anything else let me know. By the way, just so you know, I am switching to a laser because so many talons and eclipses have rust underneath the side skirts/ground effects. My talon has tons of holes in it and I've noticed that lasers are always in perfect condition. Again, thanks.

Seems like I maybe a little late, but yes it will swap over, what you need is the hood, both fenders, lights, full laser ground effects, spoiler, that will have you all set, and by the way, the 6-bolts stopped being made during the third week of April not during July, just a heads up, and any way I would stick with your current engine if it is not giving you any realy bad problems. It would be ideal to find a 92 laser before April so you can have an extra 6 bolt to build plus the 4 bolt rear end.
