Well I just got a 93 laser, it has comp 101 racing cams, i just started the car, and it was idling real low, like almost ready to stall idle, i noticed the oil pressure gauge was under the little line on the oil pressure gauge,

But when i gave it some gas the gauge raised up to the line

was the oil pressure low just because it was idling low?

Possibly, but don't rely 100% on a stock gauge, in my experience, they are not all that accurate and can worry you more than help...I'd get an aftermarket gauge if you're that worried and monitor that...you'll probably find that all is good.

remember that the oil pump runs off the timing belt so if the idle is low then obviously the timing belt isnt going to be moving very fast so the oil pressure is going to be low and the motor isnt going to need as much oil as if it was revving high...like said above just get a aftermarket oil press gauge and does it have low press at a higher rpm when driving the car???

Normal DSM behaviour. Get your idle up to spec. You still probably won't show pressure at idle. If you really don't have pressure, the lifters will make a racket like a sewing maching going through beercans.
