After driving the car normal, or when i race the car just feels so damn hot. Although the temperature level is right in the middle, it feels like its a lot hotter than that. If i race in the day the lil temperature meter goes up a lil an then back to the middle....I was thinkin i need a new racing radiator. Which one would be good? An do u think that would keep it from bein so damn hot all the time? I was lookin at this one called Visteon, it brings a fan an everythin, idk if ### u guys think..

never a bad idea to upgrade the radiator, just drain the fluids and clean out your radiator now and fill it up with better fluids in the mean time and make sure your fans are working properly and see what results you get from that... I have my cooling fans rigged up where soon as the ign is on both fans cut on and stay on until I take the key out... Therefore im not waiting around for it to get hot, and its been that way for at least a yr now with no probs... Also do you have a heat shield over the exhaust? Believe it or not that makes a difference if you dont have one, they sell chrome shiney performance ones on some sites would even give you a little bling under the hood....Honestly I think our engines just get hot like that though, mines does to, i mean its a hardworking 4 cylinder with a turbo under the hood, its going to generate heat...

Yea mine feels the same way. My temperature gauge reads just below half way but if i'm sitting at a light or parked with the car on after messing around or just running at normal operating temperature i can feel so much heat coming off my car. Even when i pop the hood, it's incredible how hot it feels but if you are that worried about it try upgrading the radiator and see what happens. It wouldnt do any harm to upgrade something like that anyway and a heat shield is definately a great idea.

My underhood temp is really hot too, but it's fine. A buddy of mine who is in auto school told me that a lot of the time turbos raise the underhood temp by quite a bit. Id say if your temp gauge is ok then youre prob fine. My car got super hot once and it revved up really high at idle and my exhaust mani was glowing orange... so if that's not happening youre prob fine haha. But draining and refilling fluids would be a good idea.

same thing with my car, its a gs 2.0 and oh my goodness... just after a daily night cruise.. no racing or anything just crusing... i come home pop the hood and man... it feels like you can roast a turkey in there... is that how these engines are??

Any car will get hot under the hood, I work on them all day, so trust me i know. Underhood temps can get to like 300* while the engine can stay in its safe range of 200-205*, just another way our engines keep cooler, through radiating heat.

Yep, and thats all intensified with a nice toasty turbo under there too LOL
