London,
ok so when I shift into 1st or 2nd or reverse It almost seems like I need to find the "right spot" for it to go into gear I noticed some times when i reverse, it will pop out and do the tiny grinding noise or if i dont find that sweet sport for 1st or second same tiny grinding noise (not the kind when your slamjing it in gear without cluth or anything but still a tinyer grind)
Now a couple people told me to do a sifter ajustment but i dont know how im goning to do this... i dont know what way to ajust it?

From my experience and from what I hear from all my dsm buddies dsm's are know to shift like crap. Check the slave cylinder and check for leaks and if that doesn't solve it look into a shift kit.

check over your master cylinder and your slave cylinder for leaks first. then if that doesnt help try adjusting the linkage. mine was doing exactly what you are explaining and i just adjusted the linkage and it works mint. you have to take the center console apart. after you get that all apart you can see the shifter and the linkages. there you have to take both cotter pins out and pull the ends off the shifter. now hold the shifter so its directly in the middle and adjust the linkages so they will just about slide back on the shifter without moving the shifter. this should equal the throw. mine wasnt centered so it wouldnt push the linkage all the way ahead for second gear, thereby grinding second.
after you do that dont put the console back together. take it for a drive and notice what gears are grinding and try adjusting the linkages again untill you minimize the problem.
after you have fixed the linkages you can also drain the old tranny fluid and buy either b&m synchroshift or redline's MT-90 fluid. i prefer the redline buts its your preference and totally up to you.
hope this helps

wow thanks alot guys Im just afriad im gonna do more damge then good when I try to ajust the linkage ... well i guess ill go try it
:)

sounds like my tired transmission mines does the same.. .Someone told me the syncros in the tranny could be going bad? Hope not because a rebuild is expensive... Ive read that the shifter plate on our cars is very uneffective and also causes that problem becase of the bushings flex or something like that.... Look it up on vfaq.com, theres a mod for it too I believe, i just dont remember because its been so long since ive been on there.
