Just a few questions. For starters, I have a '95 awd and my buddy has a 97. If I look on his rear diff it has a code on it, 3 letters and 3 numbers. It reads LSDXXX(can't remember the numbers). Mine reads BFB or something of that sort. I called VR, and they told me that my car was not equipped with a rear lsd. I also called Jeep and they said the same so can someone tell me wtf is going on because I've been hearing from alot of dsmer's that all dsm's have front lsd, viscous couple in the center, and open diff in the back. Also I couldn't find that orange "WARNING VISCOUS COUPLING..." sticker anywhere on my car, does that mean it didn't come with one?

Last question, One of my friends told me that AWD dsm's have a 70/30 power split. I called VR, Buschur, and Shep and they told me that the Viscous coupling is designed to always be changing power output? Ex. If you launch it will be more like a 20/80 split. When you go around a turn its going to split 40/60. etc. Can someone simplify this? And what is the factory Split, when driving in a straight line??? I'm assuming 40/60?

Well I read those threads. My car has no orange label on the door jam and the rear diff doesn't read lsd, but Buschur said all dsm's came equipped with viscious and rear lsd's so WTF! + I thought rear was open diff?

As far as first gens go, the rear lsd was standard with Mitsubishi. It was an option with Plymouth and Eagle. All had open diff's up front. 2g's nothing was standard

It'll handle just fine.
All AWD DSMs are 50/50 torque split. It may be the only AWD car ever built that way. And I don't know why others do the goofy crap they do.

then I have a question on the limited slip, if I do not have the orange sticker anywhere, does my center diff still have the limitied slip so I only have to swap out the rear diff for the limited slip?? also, is the limited slip in the rear diff going to help alot or not??? sorry about asking questions in someone elses thread but there was info here. "when the system senses that one axle is slipping, engine power is reduced to that axle and directed to the axle with more traction."

There's no overall loss of power. If one wheel is slipping or spinning, the power gets directed to the other wheel which isn't.
