Does anyone have either of these struts, and fill me in which one they like better? Right now i have the Blues, but im not sure if i want the illuminas or not... i've heard real good ratings on the illuminas.

Let me know. Im really looking for ride height difference... i want ones that will go lower with my H&R racing springs

I have the Illuminas on stock springs my N/T and I love them. Adjustability is priceless, I've driven them around on almost all settings depending on mood, there's a huge difference between say 1 and 3 (they go to 5, never tried) and they aren't too harsh. RRE says they're their favourite struts.

I got them from ebay for like $350 shipped.

So they are adjustable then, and that is the meaning for a step up from the BLUE HP? im PLANNING on putting H&R racing springs on the illuminas (2" - 1.75" drop) but i currently bought EIbach pro kit

What do you think the illuminas will lower my GSX with the H&R OR the Eibach Pro kit.? i have a HUGE gap right now, and i want it low as possible

Just a word of warning... I used to have sportlines, which have a similar drop to the H&R. Thy ride horribly and are basically for looks only. Although Illuminas may hold up to the abuse, the rest of your suspension will suffer. From being on sportlines (for god knows how long, I bought the car used with them), a bunch of my suspension bushings are shot. Getting GCs and Illuminas with 1" drop was my first mod, and man am I happy the sportlines are gone.

I don't think the struts by themselves affect ride height. It only depends on the springs.

Regarding firmer struts/springs killing other susp. parts, yes, I had my rear upper knuckle bushings on both sides literally destroyed after a few thousand miles on the harsher Illuminas.

I'm running pro-kits and blues, and the ride is good. Adjustables are awesome though. Blues are more of a factory replacement strut, they are a little heavier duty than stock, but they cant handle big drops for a long period of time. If your going to be dropping 1.75-2" (which looks awesome but isnt very practicle), then adjustables would be the best bet.

The Illumina's aren't adjustable as far as height goes, you need a coil over if you want to adjust ride height yourself. I have the Illumina shocks and they work great, nice range of dampening adjustability. What about the Tokico springs as well? They will lower the car about 1.75" but were designed as a package so you wont have issues like some of the other setups. If you check my gallery I run that setup but the GST setup is a slightly less drop @ 1.6". Defently happy with my setup and would recommend it.

Like No_skillz said be careful with what springs you get, as these cars don't have a tonn of suspension travel and if you go to low you will regret it, the car will ride like crap. If you really want to "slam" the car you need a fully adjustable coilover such as Tein, where you can adjust the shock mount as well to keep the same amount of suspension travel.

I have the Illumina's and I have them set on 5, it is very responsive, my wheels never slip (granted it's AWD), and I just put some strut tower bars on and the car handles better than anything I've ever driven, including all my rich friend's $30k+ sports cars.
