Tire Fitment

hey guys,
On my talon I need new tires and right now I have falken ZE512 205 45 17. I was wondering if 215 45 17 of the same tire would fit on my car? My car is lowered and about 2in gap from the fender? thanks
Matt

you asking if 215/45/17s will fit on your car? lol i have 245/45/17's!!! My car is also lowered, and the front doesnt ever seem to rub. But...my back tires rub big time whenever i hit a bump or anything like that. I just put them on not too long ago, but im sick of the scraping, so tomarrow i am going to put blocks in my coils and raise the back end up alittle bit. You shouldnt have any problem at all with 215's, if i hardly have a problem with 245's.

What size wheels are you running? 225 45 17 is a common size for the lowered 2g, 225 40 18 is also very common. Get away from the 205 and 215 and experience some traction

I'm with lasertrim.I got 205-40-17's on my car and I hate them.Came with the car,so.... 225-45-17 is the equivalent to your stock size so that would be the best choice IMHO.

yeah, i used to have 225/45/17's, but even then if i had one person in the back seat and hit an extremely small bump you could hear the tires rub. So why did i go with an even bigger tire?? well....i dont know...

2G-specific

You shouldn't have any problems but if you want to be safe you can have your fenders rolled for about $100.

How did those Falken's hold up? Kind of offtopic but I am looking into getting some of those same tires.

I have the Zeix 512s, the ride is crappy, I feel every damn bump in the road, road noise is loud. I can't wait to get some new tires when these die.

The tires only held up for about a year but i need some good tires and also cheap tires too. the rim size is 17 X 7. So everybody thinks 215 45 17 should fit my car right? Don't know if this makes a difference but I have intrax springs. With AWD i really can't burn rubber at the track so I don't know why the tire wears so fast? thanks for the replys.

I guess I will be buying 215 45 17 Falken ZE512 tires. Thanks for the help. Are the 512 tires good or should I get something better?
