Best bang for the buck FMIC

I was looking at the ebay intercoolers thread and i wanted to post in there...But i'm still a noob and just wondering if any of you guys can lead me to the right to the right one. This would be for my 1998 gst. So if you have one let me know or let me know who to stay away from thanks!

I have heard many good things about the ssautochrome/xspower fmic kits. So that is what i am ordering i just sent them an email a couple hours ago for the groupbuy which i hear they are still allowing dsmtuner members to do. If you go to page 10 in the ebay fmic thread that is 40 some pages long it says how to get the groupbuy price of 295 shipped. Although i have not heard back from them.

I bought my XS power FMIC for 380 shipped before the group buy but it still has been worth every penny. I would pull timing up top due to the small core I had previously (20x11x3) and now with the larger core the charge stays nice and cool. Highly a recommendation since it comes with everything you need to bolt onto your car. Some modifications will be needed to make it fit your style turbo though. Read the entire thread, it covers the td05h, t25, and to4e installations with pictures

Like blcknspo0ln said, you can jump on the bandwagon and buy the XS FMIC kits. So far i've had no problem with it. A real bang for the buck. A few modifications here and there but I saved about 500bucks.

i have yet to install mine, but it looks awesome. I bought a $1000 intercooler for my other car and it looked nowhere near as good as this $300 one

+1 for the SS Autochrome kit. Was well worth the money. I cant wait to get a larger turbo to really test it out.

I used to be leery of the SS Autochrome and XS Power intercoolers, but I picked one up from a friend who had it, and I was suprised at the build quality. Imagine that, quality and SS Autochrome in the same sentence.

###### one of the best flowing FMIC kits on the market and it comes with everything you need for a full install. Little pricy compared to the SSautochrome stuff, but thats because SSautchrome stuff sux. You get what you pay for, dish out the dough now instead of paying for it later. If SSautochrome manifolds crack after a few months of use, how long do you think their intercoolers will last..........

You get what you pay for man....... why do u think FMIC kits from reputable companies are closer to $1000 for the core and pipes??? ### they are not made from CRAP. BTW what is that XSpower IC core and pipes made from?? But at the end of the day, your the one dishing out the cash so its yor call.

Do you have any personal experience with these products at all? What are you basing your opinions on?

Dont think I am being sarcastic or anything, I am just curious.

Im basing my opinions on personal experience. Yes i have used SSautochrome/XSPower products such as their manifold and wastegate and they both crapped out on me in less the a month. No i did not purchase a FMIC from them because of my pervious experiences in the past. Im not just out here to bash the companies because they sell great products for really low prices.

EDIT: I erased my whole post, Because I know for a fact someone will start bitching. You can look at the links, And be the judge for yourself. Who ever is about to post about the 2g fmic kit on ebay, And bash it... DON'T unless YOU had personal experience with THIS exact kit.

pg 10 is payment info, just email and ask if they are still doing the group buy for $295 shipped.

ss auto chrome, makes a good header for the spec v, good fmic's for the dsm, and some other parts for other cars. Sure their turbo's are crap, but then again it's not a top of the line company.
Some people say that you get what you pay for and in some cases it's true. But with all the good feedback about this product and no negative feedback, why wouldn't you try it and save yourself a butt load of money.
Same thing w/ the megan racing short shifter. It's a direct knock off of the b&m. I have seen 1 bad statement about the ss. The price diff in these 2 are about $100. Everyone that has this knock off loves them as well.

Yes they are still doing the group buy...just follow exactly what page 10 tells you. I just paypaled them the money today so hopefully i will see the kit soon. I say that with all the positive feedback on it, its worth the money and if you dont like it im sure you can sell it to someone for what you payed for it.
