Im replacing my head on my 95 talon and was wondering if the mechanical tensioner is the way to go when doing the timing belt, is it hard to put on and if the belt included in the kit would be ok to use instead of the mitsu belt and what other parts should I replace. Thanks.

go for it bro...I personally got it over the winter when rebuilding my engine. No more hydraulic nonsense for me...let me know if you have any other ?'s bout it :thumb:

I know this is old but wanted to see if there is more people going the mechanical tensioner way? I am debating this instead of the hydraulic one.

I know Paul S. has been using one for quite some time, and I intend to myself when it comes time to change the timing belt. You might consider PM'ing Paul about it.

Great thanks yeah I have been reading all day on the neon forums and more people are for the mechanical one than the hydraulic one. They also recommend this timing belt. First time I saw one The Gates Racing one I have a gates right now but never realized they make a racing one its even blue colored. I will go with this kit from PD VIN 'Y' 2.0 DOHC 420A Timing Belt & Tensioner KIT WITH GATES RACING H/P BELT
