2G-specific Automatic tranny problems

Ok, I bought an engine from a guy in the northern states and had it put in my 97 GST. I have been through 2 transmissions in the last year. I was wondering if a 7 bolt tranny will bolt up to a 6 bolt motor? I have lightly moded my car but not enough hp to break a tranny, I dont think. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

Yes a 7 bolt tranny will bolt up to a 6 bolt block. For the manual tranny you should have no problems. However for the A/T, you're gonna need an adapter plate made my IPT. Its called IPT/Kiggly 6 bolt engine to 2g adapter plate its $295.

We were kinda thinking that maybe I have a 6 bolt engine with a 7 bolt trany but we didnt think that those two would bolt up. My trannys keep blowing up. I am about to do a swap to a manual in about a month.
