Well finally was gonna get my car painted and then they call up and say the car won't start. I find it funny, do a comp check, and surely enough 0 across the board. Timing belt still moves so it appears as if it jumped timing and bent the valves.

Assuming that its just the valves the bent and no problems with the pistons, what all should I be looking forward to replacing while I'm under there? I plan on having an evo 3 16g on with a nice blow-thru setup with maft , 550s ,255, safc2 etc. I am looking to do basically everything I can while the head is off but would like some recommendations on brands and specifics parts based on the ammount of power I will be producing.

You should ne nothing more than stock for anything. How many miles are on your stock head components? You may need a set of springs IF and only if your approaching 200K. You run stock cams w/ a stock rev limit. You've not strained anything in your head.

was the car running fine when you brought it in to get painted?sounds like the workers at that shop had a little too much fun with your car.

lool ya litteraly it was working perfect, dropped it off, next day they call saying it won't turn

100k miles on everything.

It's possible to have zero compression on all 4 without bent valves if the timing jumped enough to not allow the valves to close completely during the compression stroke.

If it jumped timing, put a new belt on correctly and recheck compression. If you still get zeroes across the board, it's time to pull the head.

MHO.

Roll the cams over until the dowel pins point up, remove the rocker cover and check the rocker arms. If the wiggle all over, then bent valves. The bent valves won't seat all the way leaving space on the rockers.

THat seems more likely in a situation like mine, I'll open the head either tonight or tommorow and post back.

we took the timing belt cover off, cranked it to 1 rotation and the timing belt is in perfect condition, what gives?

From all appearances my timing belt looked good too, when it had actually slipped teeth because the auto tensioner went bad. Once you get the lower timing cover off you will probably realize the tensioner has failed. I could push mine in with my finger.

I find it amazing that you drop it off and the next day it doesn't work. I would raise HELL at that paintshop and put my lawsuit hat on.

yeah i dont understand really, ill have to see tommorow morning once everythings off. what am i looking to do besides timing belt, water pump, all the gaskets, valves, and maybe some nice lifters assuming the valves are bent and not pistons

Most times, pistons survive bent valves. Usually they lightly "kiss" the piston tops. If there is a noticable gouge, then pull them and polish them down to eleminate any future hot spots from developing that would cause preignition.

Check your harmonic damper on the crank to see if the rubber ring is cracking up. Mine had already been replaced, but the rubber goes bad and the thing falls apart.

Also anyone think at 100k miles I should worry about replacing anything in the bottom end or maybe the oil pump? They seem expensive to do for no reason, and I don't feel it should have to be done.

every single valve is bent LOL, as far as the pistons it looks like it just lightly kissed them like someone said.

So as far as the mods listed what am I looking to buy now and what brand. I just bet a felpro gasket set planning on using a cometic headgasket and already have a nice exhaust manifold gasket. Am going to do the timing belt and water pump.

What else as far as maintanance should I do and what brand of valves should I get with the power I'm going to produce using the evo3? Maybe some 3g lifters? Any recommendations is greatly appreciated!!!
