wanna swap out my 1.8 talon motor...

i have a 93 talon DL. 1.8 and i wanna swap a 2.0 non turbo motor into.. sell it and den buy an awd turbo;) .. but i need to know everything i would need to do this swap and if anyone has done it b4 any tips to help me out and what to watch out for... thanx
 
becuase i had a problem before that i still havent looked into.. i posted up about 2 weeks ago.. i had the car with no oil for a while because i had a crack and didnt kno.. drove with it like that for about 4 days and den started hearin loud clanking noise. so im pretty sure my valves are bent and now i gotta change that i was talkin to a mechanic and he said that i might of messed up the piston rings to.. so i just might have the mechanic swap a 2.0 and get a better deal for it. ### my car is clean, rims, system etc.. made it loook nice but never had any balls.. now wit a 2.0 it'll have a lil something..
 
1st off: 1.8L does have some balls, you just got to unlock it LOL. (Ex 4G37 Tuner, know my way around it more then my own body.)

2nd: 4G37 doesn't Bend Valves because it is a non interference engine
3rd: running with out oil you probably Raped your: Cyl walls, Cam, Rod + Main Bearings.

I have done this swap more then once.

I will say first you do not need to swap out the Tranny or Axles because alot of 2.0L N\T came with the same tranny as the 1.8L which is FM522 or F5M22 or something similar to that cant remember off the top of my head, but it ends in 22 and starts with F and a 5 and a M go in there somewhere LOL.

You need

4g63 n\t Motor
2.0L ECU N\T
4G63 Driver Side Top mount (the one that wraps around the cylinder head)
4G63 n\t Engine Wiring harness (make sure you get a harness that matches the year of your motor due to plug changes) (1991-1994 is different then 1990.) (Recommend matching Engine + Wiring Harness to the cars year if you can.

Everything else is a direct bolt up basically.
 
It seems like a lot of work sell it the way it is save up some money and buy your awd, or get a awd shell, find a engine and drivetrain. There you go, while its apart you can rebuild the engine, tranny, and diff, also lets work on our grammar,we want to help but lets get our words spelled correctly.

I agree about just saving up your money for a GSX instead of swapping it out.

BUT

It's not that hard of work, and if you have done a swap before or who ever is doing the swap, you or they can do it in about half a day or less with a buddy.

BUT

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HAVING A SHOP DO IT!

A shop would charge way more then it would be worth I guarantee you wouldn't get the money back that you paid when you go to sell the car, and they would also most likely do a half ass job.

(Yes I know not all shops apply to this but the majority of shops out there do)

Even if your selling the car off, you don't want a half ass job done, because a few weeks down the road you could end up getting a call from the new owner saying he was driving down the interstate and the tranny dropped out of the car or something of the sort, and it caused an accident and he got hurt, and now he's sewing you. Weather he wins or loses the law suit you still don't want to have to deal with that.
