Have you checked the turbo for shaft play? Is the exhaust smoking?
That. Or you could just not push the gas pedal down a certain amount.

BTW, the turbo is always going to spin. So it is just going to keep getting worse.

The exhaust is not smoking. yes, its my daily drive. I know the turbine will continue to spin, but I just want it to not make noise, or charge boost. That way minimize the damage at least until I can replace it. Can you point me to a more detailed tutorial, or explanation of removing the wastegate flapper?

Yeah. Its what I've been doing. But when I have to go up a hill, it gets kinda annoying... Just wanted to know if there was anything else I could do. Since aparently there isnt, well I'll just control my "right foot"

this happened to me a while back, I figured it out by messing with my bov. The allen wrench screws on the outside holding the top cover to the metal part of the bov was loose. I tightened them, and there was no noise. I thought my turbo was done too, but it was just a boost leak. I have a greddy knock off rs. Try looking at the bov and see if you can tighten anything down.

depends.

run more boost, requires more injector.

run less boost, requires less injector.

Run crazy big turbo with crazy low boost - silly inefficient, but still, small injectors.

my stock 2g injectors handle my 20g a-ok. I just run lower boost because I got the turbo on the cheap.

but larger turbos run more air at same boost levels due to size. fluid dynamics makes head hurts. run even less boost in such a case. it's not all in how much boost you run.
