New Member :) Just Finished Building My engine.. Lookin For some Advice!!

Hi Guys, Im New to the website... I recently found out about dsmtuners.com.. Ive been a Dsm.org guy for quite some time but that sites died down so much it seems... Ive had three 1st Gens 1n/a (probably the best 1st car a 16year old could want) and 2 TSI. Recently upgraded and got myself a 97 Eclipse GST...... Got Traction? I know thatll be prob. lol neways.. the car had a bad head and when i tore into it i found out that the urbo was junk as there were shavings in the dump tube and the oil pan.. Bearings chewed up a lil.... I wanted build a 6 bolt... but this motor only had 15k on the motor.. and found out that it had been built with eagle rods and weisco pistons... and the crank is std.

so this is what i had refreshed on the motor..

hot tanked the motor...

new .40 over rings on the weisco pistons...
new Clevite Race mains and rods bearings
Balance shaft removal (had already been done)
new oil pump as the turbo caused old one lock up pretty much and jump my timing.
New Rebuilt Head

Im planning on a evo 3 turbo ( nothing but good ive read on this turbo)
I wanna know what my motor should be capable of with 550cc injectors and this turbo and also installation on my arp head bolts that im reusing? Your input be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ia97gst (Larry)

im going through a full rebuild as well.

how much did you spend? what are the specs on your head?

also why .40 over? is that not the max on these blocks? if you blow you have nothing left, correct?

as far as the turbo read these replies and check out this particular one.

this will be what im getting and my engine would be capable of so much more.

New Member :) Just finished building my engine

Hey, Thanks for your interest. Ya the only reason i went with this motor was becuz the guy had already had it built and it had 15k on it when the turbo chucked and ruined the head with belt failure. and i just decided since the crank was still good and the fact that it had eagle rods and weisco pistons in it i would just freshen it up ### eagle rods are like 400 bucks and weisco pistons are like 400 as well and it already had them and with the aluminum 7 bolt flywheel i figured id try and get soem use outta the stuff since it was already on the car... and why the guy went .40 over i have no clue... but ya once she goes this go around im gonna build me a 7 bolt... but with the machine shop assemby of polishing the crank. rods and main race bearings weisco new rings on the used pistons. machine of the eagle rods and hot tanking it with the oil pump back on.. basically a new short block my bill came in at 492.00 which i thought was really good when u figure 100 for rings , rods and mains another 100 im sure.
