St. Louis,
1. From what I have read, the more wide open your exhaust is on a turbo car, the better because the turbocharger can spin more freely. But I have also read things about non turbo cars that say having exhaust thats too open (that eliminates back pressure) is bad for non turbos. Is this true?

2. I know that resonators help lessen loud exhaust noise, but do they restrict flow very much? And do they make the sound of your exhaust higher pitch, lower pitch, or just quieter?

3. Will using a test pipe (catalytic converter eliminator) increase the volume of my exhaust sound very much? Will they change the way the sounds in other ways (i.e. more grainy, or rumbly)?

Basically Im just looking for a way to effectively increase flow on my non turbo without making it sound like a bumble bee riding a dirt bike while playing a kazoo OMG

Both are true.

From what I know, they do not restrict flow much and make the sound quieter. Don't know about the pitch, but I would guess that it wouldn't change.

Yes, it will increase the volume some. Again, don't know about other changes, but I would guess none.

Another quick question: Would an exhaust kit made for a 1G GST (FWD) bolt right up to my non turbo? In other words is the catalytic converter in the same place on a GS and a GST?
