Hi everyone,
I have been having a problem with my stock non turbo 95' Talon EFI 2.0 D.O.C. I can't seem to find the answer i'm looking for in the other posts. So if there is one please link me to it. Ok here's the problem; My Talon can be hard to start, other times its fine. It also will die either in idle with the rpms raised to about 1500-2000. It will also do this while driving It can be within a minute of starting it up, to 5-10 minutes. It will die as though I turned of the ignition. It will then be difficult to almost impossible to start. I have noticed the rpms will fluctuate up to several hundred if I try to hold the rpms in park. It will also do this while i'm cruising along. If I rev it up to 1500-2000 rpms and then let off the gas the rpms drop to about 3-400 then bounce back up. It idles around 800 and the flutctuating rpms don't seem to occur at idle, or its not as noticeable.
I have done the following things to it: changed the crank senser from a shop, there is a software update sticker which seems to have been done in 99', changed the iginion coil, checked the t.p.s resistance which is good. Cleaned out the throttle body. Found one of the injectors is not performing well by checking the resistance, but when I disconnect it the car still does the same thing. I have thought it could be the i.a.c. but I have to take the throttle body off again and I don't think the i.a.c. could kill the car. Also with the ignition turned to on I hear a low humming like sound with a faint ticking coming from the e.c.u. I can't hear it it though when the car is running. Any help or advise would be most helpful.
THANK YOU TO ANYONE WHO CAN HELP ME RESOLVE THIS ISSUE.

I have seen before on the 2G's where the bolts that hold the ECM to the bracket are too long and short out the ECM causing the vehicle to die. Back the bolts off with a few washers in between. If it dies again tap the ECM to see if it will restart. You may need to use shorter bolts. I have seen this as a problem with Mits and Eagle ECM's and if you replace the ECM without using different bolts you can reproduce the problem of it dying. Took 3 weeks to figure out what the problem was and all caused by 2 sticking bolts that where too long to begin with. May want a mechanic to check the ECM board make sure it isn't cracked. The ECM is in the engine bay, consult your factory manual for further information.

ECM or ECU is the same difference. :talon: :dsm:
