sorry if this is a repost, but I was just wondering if the crank, oil pump, balance shafts and exhaust cam gear stays right on target with the intake only moving up 3 cogs, will this hurt anything?
I put the engine back in time and it kicked right over I let the car sit over night and then I went to start it again, well the belt slipped again and it did the exact same thing. Here I came to find out that the tensioner pulley was not adjusted properly,so there was not enough tension being applied when the hydralic tensioner was @ its most relaxed position.
Tomorrow I am going to put everything back together and see what happens, I was just wondering if you guys could tell me good news and say i did not hurt anything.
By the way when the intake side jumped the car still ran it just heavily carboned up the plugs and ran super rich cause I guess the intake valves were not opening not allowing any air to enter the motor. It ran, it just had some valvetrain chatter and acceleration was very doggish.

make sure u get the right tension on it when ya re-do it search the forms they got alot on it..as far as running out of time it builds some carbon on the tops of the pistons and valves its up to you if ya want to pull the head and get it off or use some seafoam or mccc depending on how long u ran it that way... or dont do either and re-do the timing your decision remember carbonbuildup=hot spots hotspots=pre ingnition =bad
