Installing DSMLink Chip

I am planning on getting DSMLink on my 95 Talon. My question is, if my ECU has a factory EPROM is it just a matter of popping out the old chip and popping in the new one or is it actually soldered onto the board?

My second question is, yes I have searched for this, where is the ECU located, under the radio or behind the glove box?

Thanks for the help

The ECU is located under the radio, accessed by the panels on either side of the center console. The EPROM chip is soldered to the board, I recommend sending it to Tom and letting him socket it, I had mine done locally by someone who "knew" what they were doing and I had to get a new ECU.

Yep, one static surge (you know, static from rubbing your feet on the ground) and you can make the entire ecu a paper weight. It takes some experience to get those chips in right.......

I'd say ship it to tom too
