Ok, I had no problems with my power steering ever, until I took off the line on top of the pump on time. Now, I have fluid leaking out from the washer/nut. I took out the stock lock washer, and installed a crush washer in hopes of fixing the problem. Not happening. Still leaks. What do I need to do to fix this problem. The thought of swapping in a manual rack has crossed over my mined lately, haha. Here are some pictures to show you where its leaking from.

[Too big.]

The seal on that fitting comes from 2 O-rings, not the washer. I just replaced mine with Mitsubishi O-rings, they are pretty cheap. If you take the hose off, you will see the two grooves on that post for the O-rings.

You need copper crush washers. Put one on top and one on bottem of the line fitting. Also I would add a bottle of the lucas PS fluid to try to save your pump....running it low will kill it quick, even after fixing the leak.

This joint is sealed with O-Rings. There are two of them. See the picture. You put the hose over the shaft, then the lock washer, then the nut. The seal comes from the two O-rings.

Ok, but how do you get that piece in the picture out of the ps hose? Also, I added another crush washer, and it seems to have stopped leaking. Havent driven the car around at all, just started it up, so dont quote me.

That piece in the picture is screwed into your power steering pump...it is the post that your power steering hose banjo end fits over. Just take that nut off the top of your power steering hose banjo end, and lift it off the post. Now look at the post...that is the piece in the picture. You should see two o-rings (or at least the slots for them) :) Those are what you need to replace.

The piece in the picture would nto come out though. I took off the nut and tried to take out that piece with the o-rings, but is stuck in there. It has play so i can move it up and down a little, but no real way of taking it out, it looks like

Do you mean you were trying to take that piece out of the power steering pump, or trying to take the hose off of that piece? You don't need to take that piece out of the power steering pump unless it is leaking fluid between it and the pump. There are lower o-rings in there as well. If your leak is between the hose end and the piece in the picture, just take the nut off the top of the hose end, and lift the hose off the post. It should just lift off of there. Then you can replace those two O-rings on the post, and put the end of the hose back over the post, and put the nut back on top.

no, it gets stuck in the banjo bolt like it has a lip on it, and is hitting it causing it to not come out. but either way, i think the problem is fixed somewhat. well see though

Hmmm, that could explain why you have a leak. Maybe one of the o-rings came loose in there and is jamming it up. That hose end should lift right off the post, with the nut off the top.

I know I'm resurrecting an old thread here, but does anyone know what size these o-rings are?

I know I'm resurrecting an old thread here, but does anyone know what size these o-rings are?

I am about to fix this leak also and need the o-ring size. I've heard bad stories about buying an o-ring multipack and it not working out. Does anyone know the size please??

Well I broke down and bought an O-ring set here when it was on sale for $6.99. I used one size P12 o-ring and and one size P10A o-ring. I'm sure you can find these sold individually somewhere. I applied plumber's grease to the o-rings. I applied Permatex to the threads of the nut and I added Lucas Power Steering Fluid to the system. So far no leaks are visible.

Note: The part shown that sits outside of the Power Steering Pump (to the left of P12) is removable and can be unscrewed if you want. I unscrewed this piece and added Permatex to these threads as well to ensure a good seal.
