95 tsi driver side axle/hub

Ive tried and tried with hammer, so called axle puller rental from advance, and the dam thing will not push threw the hub. I got the nut off, and the rotor off, after hammering the #### out of it, seased on there. the passager side jut taped the nut/axle and it came right out. Any ideas or where to get the right tools, This is the only thing stoping from pulling the trans and engine. Thanks.

This can very tough...Before I started working on my own car, a shop had hard time pulling one of them. Ended up soaking it with PB blaster for 4 days before they were able to hammer it out, maybe you can try that. Good luck.

That's what I did, plenty of PB or WD-40 and beat the hell out of it. Make sure you leave the nut on though so you don't damage the threads. Also, in case you're over-looking the obvious, the driver's side axle has a bearing that is bolted to the back of the engine. No offense, but everyone looks over the obvious every now and then.

And just so you know, NAPA kicks ass for replacement axles, part #6733 + 6734 for Tsi's and # 6720 + 7927 for Tsi Awd's. $47.88 a piece with a $56 core charge, life-time warranty

My bad, those part #'s are for awd manuals without abs, so the price might not be the same, but that's the best price for axles I have ever seen. I ordered mine yesterday and picked them up the next morning. Also, I just checked Napa's web-site (which sucks, all I could find was the front right for an auto) and It's like Summit, they don't list everything but they probably have it. Just give them a call and make sure you grease up the hub splines with some high-temp grease when you put them back in.

Silly question, but did you try torching it for a while? It's solved a lot of my problems.

well i got good news and bad news, Bad news is a new hub and axle are in order, good news is, after 8 smacks with a 20lb sludge hammer that my step father barrowed from his work, bam, out it came so now its just getting the hub, ordering it off line at a mitsu dealer, once i find the website again, and going to take the axle to napa , advance and one other place local to see if they can match and get a good price, not sure about the passager side , looks good, no rips in the boot or any thing, dont know how to check it to see if it needs replace or not. But i did find this out, the right side hub was replaced about 2k miles before i got it and the driver side has been on there sence it came from IL in aug of 94

thanks for the help tho guys
