Alright well after reading some other posts people have had luck with fixing their acceleration problems by fixing their plug gap. Last time I changed my plugs I didnt even gap them I just threw them in. I grabbed a new set and the only gapper they had at napa was the ramp type. I slid the head as far up the ramp as I could and im not sure from which spot to read from. Im guessing the far right?? I couldnt find any other threads explaining so if someone could quickly help me out that would be great.

On that ramp style, you should be referring to the thicker edge for the measurement. Yours appears, like mine, to ramp up in a counter-clockwise direction, in which case you would use the right-most red dot in your image.

thank you very much. So it seems since these are the same plugs i put in last time that the gap in my car now is .035. I read that it is supposed to be between .028 and .032 so maybe that explains my power loss over 4000 rpms? well im going to go fix it thanks again

I don't think the right-most image is correct. The "measured" point is the point of interest on that style of tool. The part labelled "actual" appears useless. regardless, either of the other two types of measurement do seem more accurate to me.

yea thanks defiant i actually saw that thread but that far right one didnt make much sense to me. Anyways i gapped them to .030 but it was very difficult to tell because i wasnt sure how much to slide it up. Im gonna pick myself up the other kind. thanks again

It's really just anal detail. "Close enough" pretty much is. And although NGKs often come out "right" from the box, they'll never say they're pre-gapped. They can't control which end gets dropped during shipping. At least NGK tries with their shipping shrouds.

i did not gap my plugs from mitsu at all just threw them in however my plugs from mitsu have two grounding electrodes and one big center electrode so i figured that they're good :dsm:
