safc or dsmlink with evo16g

I have spent the last few days wondering which controller would better suit my needs. Basics: 95 gst WITH eprom ecu, evo 16g, 650 injectors(on the way). Now I had my heart set for a safc until I realized I have an eprom ecu, BUT I don't have a laptop and cost wise, it'll run around $800.00 for a full dsmlink setup compared to $239.00 ebay safc2. Is it really that difficult to tune a safc with minor knowledge? I already have a palm + logger also. I don't want to purchase something that expensive if it's too much for my setup. I plan on sticking with the evo16g, but might go with the 50 trim bandwagon one day.
I know the dsmlink is far more superior, but the cost will about give me a heart attack after shelling that much money out for one. My freaking turbo cost me 600 bucks and figured that was the most expensive thing I needed on my car.
My future plans: fmic - 19-20 psi pump. I would appreciate any help that anyone could give me on this, but I can't seem to look past the price. Thanks in advance

You can get away with with out the dsmlink, but I'd get that FMIC at the same time though because the evo will creep.
