I have several questions i'm gonna try to squeeze in here. First, my motor mount is shot(the rubber part) has anyone ever had problems getting a replacement? None of the local parts stores have em, they say they can order em but one guy told me it could be a dealer part.
second, i'm thinking i may try first to lighten my car before I boost horsepower. What are some of the best ways to shed weight on your car, I'm also looking for any "free" mods since my budget is tighter than a forty year old virgin.
last, I read on some site about a guy building a homemade cold air intake. He coated the metal with a ceramic paint and he said that while you couldn't touch other guys' intakes cuz they were hot enough to burn your hand, with the ceramic paint his was actually cool to the touch, even after running for a while. Does anyone know if he is blowing this a bit out of proportion, and if not where can you get this type of paint? I konw ceramic repels heat really well, so i can sorta believe him. He said it did wonders for horsepower, actually made more than any brand name kit out there. sorry for the long thread.

I dont know about that whole ceramic thing, but puuting a plate around the filter blocking it from engine heat works quite well. You can either go get a new motor mount from satan, buy a used one, put in prothan inserts :thumb: or buy complete prothane kit...

So far for lightening on my car Ive removed the bumper support, all emissions equipment, a/c, unecessary bracket/bolts, cruise control is gone spare tire and crap are gone... you can also gut interior depending on how light you want to go, remove sound deadening material, rear bumper support, lighter battery and then tell your girlfriend to go on a diet!

For free mods you can hack your maf sensor (or buy mine already hacked for 40bucks...), remove bcs and make your own boost controller. Rewire you fuel pump and hack you aircan and make the cai thing I was talking about. ALl that shouldnt cost any more than 20$ (unless you buy my maf). Good luck

thanx for the info. As far as free mods i really just mean things I can do to lighten my car that don't cost anything. I'd read up on the free mods and most seemed to be for performance rather than for weight reduction. Anyone know of some good places to find oem or those prothan motor mounts?
