2g maft box on a 1g?

just wondering if a 2g maft box will it work on my 1g. need to know because i can get the box from a friend brand new real cheap. he has dsmlink for his 2g and it didnt like the maft setup.

thnaks wasnt sure. are the plug wires on the 2g for the mas hoockup the same color as the 1g?
