Sheet Metal Intake...Necessary?

When is it necessary to have one of these? I have the SCM61 and am installing FP2 cams this week. A lot of people locally, are telling me I need one of these. I was looking at this one from ebay...I know, I am a cheap bastard but I just dumper 1500 bucks into the car so if this ebay manny looks okay I might go with it. I doubt anyone would see 80whp with it but with my set up, I am almost positive mine stock intake is getting overrun. Any thoughts welcome...

Replace your intake when you start outflowing your stock one. That intake is a piece of crap. The welds suck, the plenum doesn't taper down, and there are no velocity stacks. There was a discussion here about this intake mani. As long as you can ignore the name-calling. That thread also has a link to a discussion on GOOD sheet metal intakes. I'd never put that one on my car.
