How to remove lower timing belt cover?

I need to find out wether or not my car still has balance shafts. I was told they are removed on this engine, but it vibrates alot from about 4000 RPM and higher.

How do I remove the lower timing belt cover to take a llok? Do I just take off the wheel, or do I also need to remove the motor mount to get to it?

THanks

IIRC you would pretty much have to take off the motor mount wheel support engine with a jack remove crank pulley and then the cover. I would think though if they removed the shafts you then would be able to remove a bolt on the back of the block and stick a screwdriver in there. while cranking it by hand there should be no restrictions.

the screwdriver thing only works fr one of the shafts. id say the easist way to see if you have both shafts is to take off your oil pan and look up. you can see both of them that way

That sounds like a good idea. It's probably safe to assume if there is no rear shaft, there probably is no front BS either.

Yes this is prob the easiest way. Just get a new gasket and some Grey silicon so when you put it back on it seals again good.
