Evo Engine Swap Into Eclipse

Is it possible to swap an Evo engine into a 95 eclipse GS.??? Sorry im a newb

If you search you will find your answer. If you are talking about the evo 8 engine then no, if you are taking about the older evo motors then it can be done but it is not worth the time, money and hassle.

From what I have seen and heard. 3 people have done it, all of which had complete donor cars and spent well over the price of a GS-T.

Hey, I have just put an evo III motor into my 98 Talon and it bolted up just fine. The motor mounts sit in the exact same spot. I have not got the car fully functional yet but it is getting very close. I know it is possible and you can get the motor for under 2k if you look around really hard. They are almost impossible to come by but well worth it. I just changed the intake cam to use the 2g cas. Most of the other parts are the same. Some minor mods are required i.e. swith o2 sensor, block egr, etc. Besides from that if you put a weekend into it you should be able to get it done.

He is N/T though. I am sure there is someone out there that has done an Evo motor, be it I-III or IV-VIII. The layout on the N/T is setup for the 6-8 but it might be time and money consuming.

you are talking about a LOT of monet. I'd guess like 35k to have an evo8 enine dropped into your n/t. Are you tlaking changing to awd as well?

I am so glad that I don't have to think about doing an EVO8 engine swap. I just go to my garage and drive it.

honestly either turbo the 420a or do what my friend did and put the srt-4 motor in you gs alot easier than doin the 4g63t swap, honestly search the neon board if you want to find out more about swaps for your car.

Our Team at "beyond red line" did a evo 3 eninge in to a 1g talon and it wasent that fast and its not worth your time but if you really want one i can get them from my freind for under 2k just PM me or somthing

now, isn't the new EVO IX going to be coming to the states as the last year of 4g63T (with MIVEC) next year? See, somewhere I read that the motor is flipped around, but still rotates the same direction, so for someone that wants to get certian things (intake and exhaust) fabricated, this motor will theoretically bolt right up to a DSM tranny...
